R v Y (2012) Defendant suffering from mental illness who was accused of Attempted Murder in that he was alleged to have slashed the throat of an acquaintance in a busy café. Defendant acquitted
R v VP (2012) Defendant accused of Perverting the Court of Justice by concealing a murder – Not Guilty. Media link:
R v M (2012) Central Criminal Court – Defendant who had been sexually abused accused of the murder of a neighbour who had been abusing his partner. Defendant accepted causing his death and subsequently received a sentence well below the guidelines. Media link:
R v F (2015) Gang rape involving vulnerable complainants with Learning Difficulties who required intermediaries to give evidence. Not Guilty.Media Link:
R v M (2015): Man accused of a violent rape putting forward a defence that while the sex with the complainant was “rough” it was fully consensual. Not Guilty
R v B (2013) Defendant charged with multiple offences of historical rapes of his ex-partner who was alleged to have confessed to his own son – Not Guilty
R v W (2010) Man acquitted of Rape following 10 day trial. This case was of particular significance as the acquittal was achieved despite the Jury having been made aware of the Defendant’s conviction for Rape in strikingly similar circumstances 9 years earlier.
Fraud and Money Laundering
R v W (2015) Defendant accused of being the head of a gang of fraudsters who implemented a Multi million pound fraud against DWP – case ongoing.
R v C (2013) Accountant accused of False Accounting and assisting VAT Fraud – Not Guilty.
R v O (2012) Defendant accused of an IPhone fraud totalling £4.5 million – Not Guilty. Media link:
R v O (2010) Southwark Crown Court. Defendant was one of ten men accused of an international Fraud whereby it was alleged that the co-conspirators defrauded a very well known mobile phone network provider of £4.5 million. Defendant acquitted.
Drugs Supply and Trafficking
R v A (2014) Conspiracy to Supply Class A drugs across South Coast involving a large number of police officers who allegedly witnessed the defendant handling large quantities of Class A drugs – Not Guilty
R v C (2014) Defendant alleged to have played a significant role in conspiracy to distribute nationwide Class A drugs worth millions of pounds – Case ongoing. Media Link:
R v R (2013) Defendant alleged to have been involved in Drug Trafficking at an international level – Not Guilty
R v S (2012) Defendant accused of Conspiring to Supply Class A drugs worth millions of pounds at a national level – Not Guilty
R v H (2010/11) One of six men accused of having conspired to import fifteen million pounds worth of Class A drugs. Following two separate five week trials we successfully argued that the proceedings should be stayed on the grounds of an abuse of process, the Trial Judge ruling that she could not be satisfied that the police and the CPS had NOT deliberately withheld evidence helpful to the defence.
Violent Non Fatal Offences
R v J (2014) Drug cartel alleged to have abducted and tortured a drug courier who had allegedly stolen their drugs – Not Guilty of Kidnapping
R v M (2014) High profile allegation of kidnap and robbery of a nightclub owner by lapdancers. Not Guilty. Media link:
R v V (2011) Defendant was accused of Possessing Ammunition with Intent to Endanger Life on behalf of her gang member boyfriend. Matter investigation by police department Trident. She was unanimously acquitted and has now started university!
R v V & D (2011) Alleged Gang member accused of jointly abducting and torturing a 15 year old girl over the course of two days. Not Guilty
R v M (2012) Defendant one of many students convicted of Aggravated Trepass as part of the well publicised student protest and storming of Millbank Towers. We are one of the few firms who successfully appealed against this conviction. Media link:
R v B (2011) Central Criminal Court – Defendant was accused of Conspiracy to Steal relating to a series of “fake” Securicor Robberies with three others, one of whom was in the employment of Securicor.
R v G & W (2010). Two of seven men accused of conspiring together in a series of sophisticated high value burglaries of Commercial Premises.
